Principal's Corner

 

Elbert is currently serving his fourth year as the Principal at Woodland Health and Wellness Magnet Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas. He received his Bachelors Degree from Langston University and his Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Wichita State University. Elbert has been a public school educator for 32 years. He has taught grades three through six, he has served as an Assistant Principal at the middle school level for six years and at the elementary level for 12 years.

 Elbert has embraced the “Health and Wellness” theme at Woodland and has looked for ways to enhance and integrate it throughout the school day.

Mission Statement:

The mission of Woodland Health and Wellness is to value all students and provide a safe and caring environment for education that embraces our core belief: "All children can and will learn," when taught with effective instructional strategies and when staff, parents and community work in unison
to support high expectations for all students.

Target Goals from Campus Improvement Plan:

1. All students will increase their use of problem solving and critical thinking skills through mathematics and science.

2. All students will develop reading decoding and comprehension skills.

3. All students will develop effective written and oral communication at grade level or above.
